Diabetes Plate Method

Diabetes Plate Method is one of the best methods to minimize the intake of carbohydrate and low fat. This method is more useful for the type – 2 diabetic patients. They can see the quantity of particular food type they need to eat. Hence, they will receive a balanced diabetes diet. This diabetes plate method can also be followed by the people who are obese and want to protect themselves against diabetes and heart-related problems.

Here I have shown below how to prepare a diabetes diet using diabetes plate method. It is as follows;

 1. Make two equal parts in your plate i.e., ½. Then in one of those parts, make two more equal parts i.e., ¼.


2. Now, in the large half part of the plate, you can place your favorite non-starchy veggies such as spinach, green beans, lettuce, carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, mushrooms, celery etc. However, keep an eye on the quantity of potatoes, corn, yams, peas and winter squash.


3. After that, in ¼ part, take meat or protein contained food like chicken, eggs, beef, lamb, fish, cottage cheese, tofu, turkey etc.
4. At that point fill the another ¼ part with potatoes, chestnut rice, pea's soup, bread, wafers, grain, yams, tortillas, lentils, beans and so on


5. Now, take one glass of non-fat, sugar-free yogurt or milk.


6. Finally, you can have fruits like apple, guava, berries or any citrus type.
